A podcast is one or more electronic media recordings that are delivered to a media player via an electronic feed. Additionally when new material is added to that feed the new material is delivered automatically.
Electronic media recordings are any file that can be played by a media player. Examples of popular formats for audio podcasting are the .mp3 and for video podcasting Quicktime or .mov file.
Most current media players can play a podcast. iTunes is one of the more popular services.
The electronic feed or RSS feed is a small text document that lists all the shows, where the files are saved and information about the podcast. This file is accessed by the media player and is the information the media player uses to get the podcast to your computer.

Subscribe to Podcast: If you would like to subscribe to the podcast and have each new episode delivered to you, you need a media player that supports this. iTunes is arguably the most popular and easiest program to use of this.
